Karen Harautuneian brings a fresh approach to interior architecture. Whether she is designing a kitchen or a full interior, her originality and personal touch can be seen in upscale residences from
La Jolla to Sausalito, as well as in destination locations such as Montecito, Sonoma, Park City and Kilauea, Kauai.

Karen’s unconventional style has developed over the years through formal education, informal experimentation and extensive travel. Her work ranges from Bohemian Modern to Avant-garde Traditional and has been featured in both national and international design publications. Recognized by her clients for her insightful understanding of their desires and for her ability to deliver according to expectations, she always manages to please even the most discriminating.

Karen sits on the board for The Avenues Art, Fashion and Design District of West Hollywood. She is a certified interior designer in the state of California and has a B.A. in Mass Communication Studies and a second degree in Interior / Environmental Design. Both degrees from UCLA.

Karen lives in Manhattan Beach, California.

Carla Smith

Carla Smith has been involved in design for 22 years and has helped build Hub of the House into a
well respected and sought after design firm.
Carla’s approach is to create, refine, and personalize a project to fit the needs of a client’s lifestyle in a manner that works with the surrounding architecture.

An avid traveler, Carla draws inspiration from multiple sources to create unique design elements—often one of a kind—into the space. Over the span of her career, this highly customized approach to design has attracted a discerning nationwide clientele, leading to design projects from California to New York.

Carla’s projects have been showcased in prominent design magazines and featured on Emmy Award television shows. Carla has also worked with Dupont chemists to create new color options for Corian surfaces and was a finalist in Sub Zero’s
Great American Kitchen contest. Carla was a speaker at the 2008 West Hollywood Women’s Leadership Conference.

Carla lives in Beverly Hills with her husband Alan and her two Labradors, Veronica and Betty.
